SIAMs
As a Church of England school, St John's is inspected under the Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS) framework. SIAMS evaluates how effectively our Christian vision shapes every aspect of school life and enables all members of our community to flourish.
Our Christian vision is at the heart of everything we do:
"Our Academy is More Than a School—We're a welcoming and nurturing family, who love and support one another. As a school community we are inspired by the message and example of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:25–37) and seek to live as people of hope and hospitality. We shine with resilience, strive for excellence, and embody agape—unconditional love, welcoming and enabling all to flourish."
SIAMS Inspection – June 2026
We are delighted that, following our SIAMS inspection in June 2026, inspectors confirmed that:
"St John's Church of England Primary Academy is living up to its foundation as a Church school and is enabling pupils and adults to flourish."
The inspection recognised a number of significant strengths, including:
- Our Christian vision and REACH values are firmly embedded and understood by pupils, staff and the wider community.
- Collective worship is welcoming, inclusive and central to the life of the school, supporting the spiritual development of pupils and adults.
- Our creative Religious Education curriculum develops pupils' understanding of Christianity, other world faiths and non-religious worldviews, preparing them well for life in modern Britain.
- Leaders place a strong emphasis on wellbeing, creating a nurturing culture where kindness, resilience and mutual respect flourish.
- Strong partnerships with St Chad's Academies Trust, the Diocese of Lichfield and the local community strengthen the school's vision and support continual improvement.
The inspection also identified two areas for our continued development:
- Further embedding a shared understanding of spirituality across the curriculum so that opportunities for spiritual development are consistently recognised and enhanced.
- Strengthening the use of assessment in Religious Education to ensure it consistently informs planning and provides appropriate challenge for all learners.
We are extremely proud of this report, which reflects the commitment of our pupils, staff, governors, parents, Trust and church community in ensuring that St John's is a place where everyone is known, valued, loved and encouraged to flourish.
